At Resurrection Cemetery CHILDREN’S MEMORIAL AND HEALING GARDEN
The Children’s Memorial and Healing Garden at Resurrection Cemetery is a unique place of ministry to anyone — parents, grandparents, relatives and friends — who seeks healing following the death of an infant or young child. Created in the spirit of reconciliation and peace by The Catholic Cemeteries, the Memorial is designed as a permanent, sacred place for bereaved families of all faiths. The grieving process can be a long and lonely path for those who suffer the loss of a pregnancy or the death of a baby or young child. Parents and other family members are often isolated in their grief, their losses unrecognized and unacknowledged. The Memorial is designed to provide opportunities for the acknowledgement of these painful losses, for remembrance of the infants and children who have died, and for the grieving that is essential for wholeness.
The focal point of the Memorial is the plaza featuring a beautiful bronze statue of the biblical Rachel, surrounded by the Wall of Remembrance on which the names of deceased children are engraved.
Because offering comfort to those who mourn is part of the mission of The Catholic Cemeteries, it is our sincere wish that this Memorial, with its peaceful lakeside setting, will be a source of healing and hope to bereaved families. Visitors are welcome every day of the week.
