The John Ireland Memorial Fund was initiated in 1998 by the Catholic Cemeteries to provide for the planting of new trees, landscaping and shrubbery that will enhance the beauty and serenity of our cemeteries. It also provides a way to express sympathy and remembrance at the loss of a loved one.
The John Ireland Memorial Fund has four giving categories:
Heritage, Legacy, Remembrance & Tribute Levels.
Donors in each of these four categories will receive a prayer card, commemorative certificate and recognition in the Heritage newsletter. |

The Children's Memorial at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights is a focal point for ministry to bereaved parents, grandparents, relatives and friends - anyone who seeks healing after the loss of a pregnancy or the death of an infant or young child. Too often the pain of a lost pregnancy due to miscarriage or abortion goes unrecognized.
With the creation of the Children's Memorial entitled "Holy Innocents", those who experience these painful, enduring losses now have a unique and special place for prayer, remembrance and healing. The Memorial was dedicated May 29, 2000 by Archbishop Harry J. Flynn. It is estimated that 1,400 to 1,500 were in attendance for this event. |
